AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers In Service To America) is a year-long volunteer opportunity where you can work to help build the capacity of a local organizations to carry out programs that fight poverty. Emerge VISTA offers 15 members the opportunity to make an impact on the lives of Minnesotans with criminal records. As a group we address the issues of housing, employment and financial literacy. The AmeriCorps VISTA program offers members a modest living allowance in exchange for a year of volunteer service at participating host sites. Positions will start with a Pre-Service Orientation (PSO) July 28-31, 2015. Your year of service will be from Aug 1, 2015- July 30, 2016. In exchange for serving full-time (40 hours per week) for 365 days, you get many benefits (see right side bar for additional information on VISTA benefits).
