Emerge recognizes the interplay among various systems and the affects these systems may have on homeless families (both positive and negative). Through a Family Development approach, our supportive housing programs initiate, respond, advocate, and collaborates with families and other external partners to reduce or eliminate barriers.
At Emerge, we understand that homelessness is not the result of merely a lack of housing, but a variety of underlying, unmet needs of families including physical, economic, and social issues. By incorporating intensive case management with an emphasis on family-centered, culturally responsive services - Emerge Villages offers formerly homeless families opportunities to stabilize, grow, develop, and achieve a greater sense of self-sufficiency.
Our Community Builders/Case Managers are all certified as Family Development Specialists through the Univ. of Iowa School of Social Work – National Resource Center for Family Centered Practice.
