"After more than 10 years
on the streets, sleeping at shelters or my
friend's couch, we finally have a place to call
home, and I think we finally have a chance to be
a real family again. I don't know what would
have happened to my kids if it weren't for
EMERGE Villages."

transitional supportive housing projects,
together with EMERGE, provide a holistic model
of human services to support success in housing
and employment.

The EMERGE Villages, located
throughout Minneapolis, link services directly
to permanent housing to address the fundamental
causes of chronic homelessness. The goal
is to create a mutually supportive community
among residents who will help one another
succeed. The villages server more than 165
families each year.
EMERGE Villages are designed to support
community-building by facilitating family
privacy, interaction among the folks living
there, and safety. Family-sized apartments
feature three, four, and five bedrooms.
Community spaces allow for adult and teen
programming and counseling, and areas for
after-school play and study.
EMERGE Villages emphasizes community
interactions, services and gatherings where
residents offer support and inspiration to one
another to take charge of their lives. |
